Eco & Social Responsibility

Corporate Headquarters

Located next to a wetland that we have helped restore to its natural state, our building was one of the first green structures in the nation. Built in 1995 for maximum energy efficiency, it's constructed using recycled materials and sustainably harvested wood.

Eco Policies

Within our headquarters, we use only non-toxic, biodegradable cleaners and recycle as much as we can. We have even forged partnerships with neighboring businesses to recycle styrofoam packaging as a group. We also invest in renewable wind power to help preserve clean air and water.

Our associates are provided with free monthly bus and light rail passes. Those who drive are rewarded for carpooling.

We use recycled paper whenever feasible, and our catalogs contain 10% post-consumer recycled content. (For more information on this, see Paper Procurement.)

Awards

We are honored to have been inducted into the Center for a New American Dream's Green Mail Hall of Fame. We also received the highly prestigious Corporate Award from the Ecological Society of America in 2003. And we were named the Direct Marketing Association's "Environmental Mailer of the Year" in 2001 and 2002.

Giving Back

Our associates are among the most generous anywhere-more than 80% participate in our annual giving campaign. And we match their donations to United Way and Earth Share.
